About

I am an artist and illustrator based in Boulder, Colorado. I wasn’t always an artist by trade, I spent many years being geeky and working with computers. Today, that background is a blessing as so much of what I do requires some level of digital manipulation. All of those years in program management also taught me the discipline required to run a successful business. Yes, working in Art is also a business!

I enjoy painting in a variety of media drawing inspiration from nature and my travels. As an avid gardener, it is no surprise that flowers often take center stage in much of my work. Of course, the random insect works his way into my pieces from time to time!

Though I call Colorado my home, I also spent several years living in South America and in Europe.  During my many years in Germany, I developed a passion for travel in Europe and parts of Asia. It is fascinating to observe the differences in architecture, color, and ornamentation. I also have a lot of fun with different languages (Spanish, Italian, German, and English). I now know just enough of each of them to get myself into some trouble!

I run a small art licensing agency and workshops for artists who are interested in the surface design world and in licensing.

When I’m not elbow deep in my paints or in garden dirt, you can find me mountain biking, backpacking, snowboarding, or cross-country skiing. Being outside is essential to my well being and continuously fuels my inspiration.

You can find examples of my work on this site as well as on my blog, which highlights aspects of my creative process.  I am humbled and thankful that you found your way to my website and hope that you will stay in touch by signing up for my blog and/or by following me on social media (links on top right of page).

Thanks for stopping by!
