This beauty hails from Peru and apparently has quite a long term relationship with the Passionflower plant.
The caterpillars have adapted by assimilating a poison from the passionflower plant and they now use it to protect themselves against predators! So the plant tried to rid itself from the little guys, yet they persevered.
This illustration is painted in Gouache.
